the tao walk

The tao walk today was a great experience. THe path behind the school we actually ran the day before and the experience was a lot different than today. when we were running the path for cross country we were trying to go fast beat everyone we didn’t even pay attention to the things of nature we were running through we were just trying to get from point A to point B as fast as we could but when we went on our walk I notices all the little flowers on the side of the path and how they were so pretty and peaceful.

Is Everyone Really Inferior?

Today I wanted to write about as kids everyone is treated as if they were inferior never being listened to or asked their opinion on a certain topic, this happens with every gender and race. With this being said, many of us get upset for not being listened to or treated inferior because we were young but when we become older we do the same thing, not only to kids but to people of other races.  The real question those is if we are all treated inferior at some point in our life why do we treat other people that way?

I believe that we treat people this way because we want to feel inferior to others and then when you make them feel inferior then they feel the need to pass it on so they can feel furor and it’s a vicious cycle, the reason I bring up this topic is because it’s happening in today’s society. People are so upset about where their place is in the world that they take it out on others to make themselves feel and look better.

This is what the police do to the black community, and this isn’t something that’s new it’s been going on for years. Police would wait for a black person to use the wrong water fountain or sit on the wrong side of the movie theater so that they could attack them and beat them and throw them in jail. This has gone on for many years in the nineties the rap group NWA came out with f the police trying to inform the people of how the black community was be treated many white people were outraged by the song and the police were enraged harassing the rap group for the longest time.  This relates so much to when Rashad is harassed by the paul a police officer in the novel All American boy because he wasn’t do anything and he got in trouble because of the color of his skin and he was beaten up without any cause.

In the novel, Rashad’s brother is outraged by this action and in real life, many people are also outraged and they believe that it needs to be talked about and this is why I believe that we should talk about it to get it out there so other people can hear different sides of the story.

Taste of Blood

Zoom in. Zoom in more. A little more. A boy grainy. Facedown on the pavement. A man above him. Fist raining like stones. Howling lights and sirens. Blood on the streets. The boy still moving. And then he’s not. In today’s society we argue a lot about racism and police brutality, but do we really understand both sides of the story or just one?

On every news channel you watch there is always a story about a riot or protesting that is happening somewhere because of police brutality, but with every new story there is never a change and we never see both sides of the story. Either you hear that it was hero cop and a bad kid who was not doing any good or a good kid who was minding his business and got into trouble. But every time we hear these stories the cops always get off.

Every time we hear the story of the young kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time the cop that over reacted the young kid who is surrounded by blood. With these events the news or television shows always choose the most uneducated people to talk on the young boy’s behalf, so all involved in the event sound ignorant. They never seem to talk to the family member that was there that sounds educated.  With them making the family sound ignorant they make the police sound like he was in the right. Now this isn’t always the case sometimes the young teen is in the wrong but the way the situation is handled is the problem.

When responding to a call the police always expect to be on their toes but what they really need to be focused about is finding out both sides of the story and not just jumping to a one sided conclusion. And I feel like this will help them not get the wrong idea of the person being accused of the crime cause might not have actually done it.

Also if cops learn to hear both sides of the story, I believe that there will be less race wars and rioting there will also be a less focus on BLM or ALM because everyone will feel equal. Not saying that BLM or ALM will go away because there will always be people who feel like they’re not be treated fairly but it won’t be as big of a deal.

Overall I feel like the police need to learn how to deal with each situation differently because soe situations you need to act more severely but not every situation is the same so learn how to deal with each one differently and everything will calm down, But I also believe that the people being attacked should act better too cause if you act ignorant you make everyone look ignorant and then your cause is never fixed cuse no one feels bad for you.  Every side has things they need to fix and after fixing those problem areas they might be able to look good on both sides at the sametime.

what reading and writing mean to me

Both Reading and writing have been something that is very important in my life i remember my mom reading me stories every night before bed and insisting that reading and writing and being good at reading and writing will help you in life.

I’ve always been able to read very well as it is something that i enjoy very much. Reading has always been away for me to escape the troubles in my life around me. When i read i feel as if i’m escaping the real word, i can imagine myself in the story going through the characters life and stories with them. Reading is my favorite thing to do when i’m upset or feel as if i need to be away from people. Writing is something that has always been a giant factor in my life. Even though i’m not really good at writing I’ve always enjoyed writing as it is a great stress reliever.

With being a great reader it has helped me get over my stage fright. when i was younger i was so afraid to read anything in front of the class but after doing it so many times i realized that i was actually really good at it and now i can go up in front of so many people and talk or read.  Also with reading it helps advance your vocabulary and how you right and the way you see things in life.

Reading and writing have helped me in school so much whether it be math, science, or history, reading has helped tremendously because we always have to read text books and try and understand what they mean but the more you read the more you understand. We also use writing in classes like history and science we have to right reports all the time. Overall reading and writing are very important to the success of life.
