Taste of Blood

Zoom in. Zoom in more. A little more. A boy grainy. Facedown on the pavement. A man above him. Fist raining like stones. Howling lights and sirens. Blood on the streets. The boy still moving. And then he’s not. In today’s society we argue a lot about racism and police brutality, but do we really understand both sides of the story or just one?

On every news channel you watch there is always a story about a riot or protesting that is happening somewhere because of police brutality, but with every new story there is never a change and we never see both sides of the story. Either you hear that it was hero cop and a bad kid who was not doing any good or a good kid who was minding his business and got into trouble. But every time we hear these stories the cops always get off.

Every time we hear the story of the young kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time the cop that over reacted the young kid who is surrounded by blood. With these events the news or television shows always choose the most uneducated people to talk on the young boy’s behalf, so all involved in the event sound ignorant. They never seem to talk to the family member that was there that sounds educated.  With them making the family sound ignorant they make the police sound like he was in the right. Now this isn’t always the case sometimes the young teen is in the wrong but the way the situation is handled is the problem.

When responding to a call the police always expect to be on their toes but what they really need to be focused about is finding out both sides of the story and not just jumping to a one sided conclusion. And I feel like this will help them not get the wrong idea of the person being accused of the crime cause might not have actually done it.

Also if cops learn to hear both sides of the story, I believe that there will be less race wars and rioting there will also be a less focus on BLM or ALM because everyone will feel equal. Not saying that BLM or ALM will go away because there will always be people who feel like they’re not be treated fairly but it won’t be as big of a deal.

Overall I feel like the police need to learn how to deal with each situation differently because soe situations you need to act more severely but not every situation is the same so learn how to deal with each one differently and everything will calm down, But I also believe that the people being attacked should act better too cause if you act ignorant you make everyone look ignorant and then your cause is never fixed cuse no one feels bad for you.  Every side has things they need to fix and after fixing those problem areas they might be able to look good on both sides at the sametime.
